Scavenger Hunt Sunday

COOLER COLORS
Someone is hanging out on this Beth's Blue star flower (isotoma axillaris).

 LEAVES
New plantlets are forming along the edges of the leaves of this kalanchoe plant.

ICED BEVERAGE
mint tea made from chocolate mint that grows in my garden.  The liquid is a very pale green.  YUM!

COOLING OFF
Bunkie sits in the screened doorway of the cabin catching some cool breezes (and wonderful scents, too, no doubt!).

RAW
a little bit of produce from my deck garden

This is a very fun meme hostessed by Ashley Sisk in which 5 prompts are given and one must then take a photo to illustrate each one.  Come see how others have interpreted these words HERE

Next week's words are:

  1. Body Part (pick any of them, but let’s keep it family friendly)
  2. Wednesday (take a photo on Wednesday – easy enough)
  3. Music
  4. Guess What It Is (photograph anything and make us guess what it is)
  5. Mirror Image

Anse des Sables, St. Lucia

lazy sky and sea

July

a few random photos from my life this July...
A butterfly landed on her nose!  a visit to Krohn Conservatory for the butterfly exhibit:  lots of butterflies, lots of people, lots of fun!

Raindrops dot a spider's web and sparkle like jewels in the sun.

My husband and I visited friends and family in Indianapolis in early July.  We took our bikes and rode along the Indianapolis Cultural Trail, "a world-class urban bike and pedestrian path that connects neighborhoods, Cultural Districts and entertainment amenities, and serves as the downtown hub for the entire central Indiana greenway system."  Heading home eastward bound, the sunset behind us was glorious!

Purple People Bridge  Formerly a railroad bridge, the Purple People Bridge is now a pedestrian walkway connecting Cincinnati to Northern Kentucky.  My husband and I took a stroll along the Cincinnati Riverfront after watching the Reds win a game against the Mariners.

Oliver is sooo tired after playing with puff balls.  (Next project:  recovering the seats of my kitchen chairs.  Sometime in the past--and I'm NOT saying how long ago!--I had the chairs striped and then I refinished them.)

I dyed lots of new scrunchies (Some are still available in my etsy shop), chamois, and custom orders.

friends meeting for lunch!  I've taken lots of flora and fauna photos.  It's so fun to wander around my yard, camera in hand.

beans!

This season I'm trying an experiment.  I'm growing bush beans in a couple pots on my deck--green, yellow, and purple.  The experiment seems to be working!

my first harvest!  shown with a nasturtium blossom (edible).  These beans were oh so tender and delicious!

Endless Summer hydrangea blossoms

cherry tomatoes.  With all the rain lately, the tomato plants are going gangbusters.  I've already picked 2 romas and 2 cherries.  See the rain droplets?

The Proposal!

Last week you were privy to their first meeting.  Now, as you see, they've fallen in love!  He has just asked her to marry him.  She said yes!
