On a recent trip to Aruba, I "adopted" a few new pets! First, there was a small herd of kitties who came to hang out on our deck and entertain. Most were about 6 months old.
These kitties were very sweet and friendly. Hubby was so enthralled, he brought them tooona which they lapped up greedily.
On Eagle Beach, a little dog frolicked in the sand, running back and forth, bouncing and jumping, full of joy.
And then on Bonaire, we enjoyed the company of a mockingbird and a lizard both of whom visited our patio repeatedly.
This is a Whiptail Blue Lizard (Cnemidophorus murinus ruthveni), endemic to only Bonaire.
It was fun to enjoy these adopted pets while missing our kitty at home.
Tom, the farm kitty, is seriously snoozing during the hubub of customers picking up produce during the CSA! I couldn't believe how unperturbed he was!
Tigra looks at me with earnest eyes. I know what she's thinking. something that is never far from her hungry mind--"Do you have food?"

It's very difficult to photograph a black cat, and this is just an iPhone photo. This is Edward Bunk aka Bunkie (my daughter's cat) His eyes are yellow, but in some lights they look turquoise.

Meet Tigra, my daughter's kitty. lover of rubber bands, catnip, people food, exploring, anything that's a circle, birdie watching, and people, too! She has an enthusiastic love of life! Here she is-- still for 3 seconds while I quickly snap her picture with my phone.

Oliver never was a lap kitty, till...we purchased new chairs for our library (more on that someday). Now it's funny how he'll jump up on the chair and even onto my lap probably because there's not much room for his chunky mus-coo-lar body between me and the arm of the chair. LINKS: D. W.
