Kitties would come visit us on the porch outside our door.
And on another visit, this kitty below visited us frequently. She was so sweet and friendly.
Her golden eyes were mesmerizing.
If you click on the photo below to enlarge it, you will see this cat has skin issues.

Feral animals are the offspring of stray or abandoned household pets. Raised without human contact, they quickly revert to a wild state and form colonies wherever food and shelter are available.

These cats are beautiful if cared for properly. It is great that there are plans for an eventual sanctuary. All the best!
ReplyDeleteDitto.
ReplyDeleteI remember seeing a lot in London but they had several people helpig them.

These cats are beautiful - I am so glad people are trying to help them! Trap-neuter-release (TNR) really does work in controlling the feral population.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Alley Cat Allies is the best organization I know of for information on feral cat care and TNR. http://www.alleycat.org/
Thanks, Mishcat! adding that link to my post!
ReplyDeleteSuch sweet kitties, it's too bad there's getting to be so many over there. I agree with Katie (Mishkat) that Alley Cat Allies is a great resource on TNR and hopefully they are able to do TNR on the feral kitties over there to control the population.
ReplyDeleteIt's so sad when pets are abandoned and then produce more unwanted strays. Alley Cat Allies is a great site. Thankfully there are many loving people out there trying to help.
ReplyDeleteTake care,
xo Catherine
Beautiful kitties! Education is so important in stopping the feral population. Spay and neuter clinics abound, but are not always used. Glad to see that there are some plans being put into action.
ReplyDeleteI hope it works. Poor little cats having to live rough.
ReplyDeleteHow sad that people just abandon little animals like that. You can see the sadness in their eyes. Thank goodness organizations are starting to help them.
ReplyDeletelovely of you to bring attention to the growing problem of feral kitties - especially since it's a problem that is within our reach to resolve!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful eyes, she looks like our cat back home :)
ReplyDeleteThose cats are beautiful! I'm happy that there are some great organizations there to help. St. Maarten is a beautiful island - I have only been there once for a day (during a cruise) and we absolutely loved it!!
ReplyDeleteAlso - I got your message about exchanging postcards on my blog and I would love to exchange! :) Just email me (laurenbeth at gmail dot com) so we can exchange addresses! I know I probably have yours somewhere from Etsy, but this will ensure it gets sent to the right place :)
Have a great weekend!
What cute cats!! It's a shame that people get pets and just don't take care of them.
ReplyDeleteNice to know that the island is doing something about it.
Feral cats also kill thousands of songbirds and have had an effect on bird populations. This is certainly a problem that needs to be solved for the birds and for the cats! It is a hard life for the cats as they were not meant to live that way! As a cat lover and owner, please keep your cats inside and spay and neuter them! As a bird lover I make the same appeal!
