Nests

Carolina wrens' nest is shaped like an igloo.

3 bright turquoise eggs in a robins' nest

Only one baby robin hatched.

A baby barred owl is sitting on his makeshift plastic crate "nest."

    1. The wrens made a nest in a pot on my deck. The owl is in my backyard. The robins' nest is in another yard.

  3. How wonderful! I spotted a nest on a lamp underneath a road overhang the other day. A furry sensible and safe place for a nest!

  7. I like the color of the robin's eggs. My mind went straight to what I can create with that color.

  12. The photos are lovely - thank you! The eggs are so beautiful, I have never seen such eggs live. Well, we do not have robins... And I love the owl. I have only seen owls twice, and each time it was at night; photos were not good. It is nice to see Barry so clearly.

  13. Perfect for N!! I'm glad you provided the links -- it was fun reading back over your original posts. In the wren nest -- maybe mama didn't quite make it into the nest in time for that first egg!! Love that sweet little robin, and Barry.

  19. Oh wow.

I loved the owl sitting on the crate...not quite as artistic and natural as the robin pictures, but I always enjoy seeing nature adapt to our invasion.

The robins egg nest picture is my favorite.

    Lovely colors!

Thanks for sharing this nifty post.

    A+

  20. I love that robin's egg blue! And the baby is so cute! Once in a while, in the springtime, I'll find the shells of a robin's egg on the ground & it's always pretty exciting to me - mysterious, too since I can't see the nests high in the trees!
