Here I am, 2 years old, standing in front of the chair my Grandma gave me for my birthday. I remember receiving that gift! It was way up high on our round oak dining table. I was looking up at it from below. I was mesmerized. This was a special gift, for my Grandma died when I was 4 and I have only a few memories of her. I had that chair for a long, long time. So here I am, a 2 year old in big girl pants (!), clutching my stuffed animals. (I always loved stuffed animals.) Note those cool old-fashioned baby shoes. (Please ignor the lack of a fancy dress, or even, ahem, just a shirt.)
This is for the etsy bloggers street team carnival!
What a lovely post. Its great you have memories like that, I have only a few of my Grandmother who died when I was young.

I just got rid of my first rocking chair last summer when we moved from CA to OR. It was with me for 35 years. Funny how we have early memories wound up with certain items. What a cute photo!
ReplyDeleteThat's such a wonderful photo! And a wonderful birthday memory too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet picture. The candid moments are the best and it's great to have fond memories of our loved ones, even if our time with them was short.
ReplyDeleteWonderful picture and memory. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great birthday memory!!
ReplyDeleteTwo of my grandparents were already dead when I was born. My mother's mother died of TB when I was 4. My father's father died when I was 6. I didn't have much "grandparent love" exprience growing up. I have heard that my Grandma was an amazing, wonderful, loving person. I have only 2 other memories of her.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, my children have been very lucky to have wonderful grandparents around while growing up. Through them, I have witnessed "grandparent love." (which, of course, goes both ways and is very special)
How sweet is that pic!!!! I love old pictures.
ReplyDeleteI am happy to finally be able to say that after much waiting impatiently, I have been accepted into the etsy bloggers team. Dont know what I have to do, but here I am. :)
