It's Spring!

Spring is here!  Spring is here!

Spring is that delicious time of year when the Earth renews its loveliness and reveals secrets once hidden in the frozen ground.  Let's celebrate!
I love the contrast of the riotous pink against the stark bare tree branches.

Magnolias are so glorious!

A robin delights in the day.

Flowers are medicine for the soul.

My Blogging Business Artisans team on etsy hosts a new Challenge every month. The purpose is to encourage us to explore our creativity, to stretch our imaginations.
Cynthia of Antiquity Travelers set forth the following Challenge for the month of March:

"Early Spring.  Since our friend Punxsutawney Phil said we'd have an early start to spring...let's celebrate!  and hope he is right (fingers crossed)."

(He WAS right!  at least where I live.)

It's Spring!  It's Spring!  It's Spring!!!
Birds are chirping, owls are hooting, the sun is shining (actually it's not!), trees are budding, blooms are busting forth!

My daughter and I shared bags of mixed tulips and daffodils last Fall.  so fun to see all the variety!

Happy Spring!

“Is the spring coming?" he said. "What is it like?"...
"It is the sun shining on the rain and the rain falling on the sunshine...”

Birth

The bud is on the bough again,
The leaf is on the tree.
~Charles Jeffreys, 1807-1865, The Meeting of Spring and Summer
Spring, when from the Earth, life bursts forth anew, calls to mind other births I have witnessed.  I remember as a young child, watching, enthralled, as my neighbor's collie gave birth to her puppies.  Later I watched my cats have kittens.  This always seemed such a miracle--new young lives, soft and fluffy, emerging from within an already existing being.
Much later, I witnessed the birth of a friend's child.   And there were my own two children, if witnessing is what you can call what I did.
Being pregnant with my firstborn, a son, was an amazing experience as I felt the life within me stir.  The time of his birth remains a special number to us.
My daughter was born at home with 2 midwives, an experience over which we still marvel.

This post is for the etsybloggers' street team carnival which asks us to tell of a memorable birthday.  This carnival will be posted on Monday, April 26 on Joey and Aleethea's blog.
Happy Birthday, Sandra!

Spring Clouds: SkyWatch Friday

Yesterday, I was fortunate to be able to sit outside and work for a few hours.  The deep
blue of the sky and the amazing capricious cloud formations captivated me.
I love the young Spring-green of the baby leaves and the still-bare branches of trees.
See the streak of the plane in this one (above)?
The temperature was perfect with just a whisper of a breeze.   AAh...the gloriousness of Spring!
This post is for SkyWatch Friday hosted by Wren, fishing guy, Sylvia, Klaus, and Sandy.
