macro

I love to take my camera and go exploring.  The wonders you can discover when looking at something so closely!

Today, I headed outside to see what I could find...
I found two ants "playing" inside a morning glory flower.

I love the frilly details of this "simple" flower.  The center stamens remind me of fireworks exploding in the sky.

Bees and insects of all varieties were having a veritable feast on the mint flowers.  Most of them were too flighty to capture well.
This "bumble bee" was taking her time, slowly making her way around all the flowers.  I imagined her relishing the scent and taste of mint.

I followed this insect till it landed.  Anyone know what it is?

a hummingbird moth!  They love the butterfly bush!

Radomly Favorite Ms

Today I give you some favorites, chosen very randomly, all because they start with the letter M.  (very important as you'll see at the end of this post!)

MAGNOLIA  MACRO
In this Wintery part of the world, who isn't longing for Spring and its lovely, refreshing beauty?!

SINT MAARTEN
sunset on the beach on a favorite island in the Caribbean.  Does it get any better than this?!

MEOW
All through the night, the kitties bring us their favorite toys.  All the while they softly chant, "meow...meow...meow...meow...meow...meow."
These yellow strips are a current favorite because they're new!  They arrived wrapped around boxes I received in the mail.

MESMERIZING

mmmm
My friends Claire and Marc got married last August and held the reception at their farm.

I'm linking up with my favorite teacher, Ms Jenny Matlock!  See others' completed homework assignments HERE. Come join in!  This week our letter is "M."

Scavenger Hunt Sunday

macro
A Meyer lemon blossom newly opened!  I'm so excited!  One of the owners of Loveland Greenhouse gave this plant to me as a gift and said to treat it like a ficus.  It recently started budding and now one of the creamy white blossoms has opened.  The scent is heavenly!
found texture
Seriously, what in the world is this?!!  *
home
Home is where the kitties live!  so cute how Oliver is snuggling this felt pillow!  (I can even forget how later, painstakingly, I will have to remove that white fur.)
cover
These cute little owls covered the door of a first grade classroom when I visited my goddaughter during a school open house.
tree
as seen through a window in my house.  I love the shape and texture of bare branches silhouetted against the sky.

* My guess was that it is some type of fungus.  I googled "red mulch fungus" and got an answer.  It's a stinkhorn--Phallus rubicundus.
