Water

lovely sunset along the Washington state coast in the Olympic Peninsula
The "sticks" at the edge of the beach are actually tree trunks washed up on shore.  This is a very wild place!

Alphabe-Thursday, hosted by Ms Jenny is so much fun!  This week our assignment is the letter "W."  Come see other submissions HERE and join in the fun!

water

Water in its myriad forms, colors, strengths, and settings is such a compelling substance.  Below are just a few of these.
Waterfowl Lake along the Icefields Parkway in Banff National Park, Canada

Athabasca River, Jasper National Park, Canada

Takakkaw Falls, Yoho National Park, Canada
The water, which is fed by the Daly Glacier of the Waputik Icefield, falls about 1260 ft (384 m) making it one of the highest falls in Canada.  Takakkaw means "magnificent" in Cree.

Water

Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada
very moody landscape with the silvery blue river winding into the distance and cloud covered snowy mountains in the background

Takakkaw Falls, Yoho National Park, British Columbia, Canada
Flowing from the Daly Glacier of the Waputik Icefield, Takakkaw Falls is one of the highest waterfalls in Canada at 1246 ft (380m).  Takakkaw means "magnificent" in Cree.

I'm linking up with my favorite teacher, Ms Jenny Matlock, as we work our way through the alphabet.  Please do go visit the other students, for you never know what gems you may find--humor, poignancy, information, visions of far away places, stuff you've never even dreamed of!  Check it out HERE.  You may even wish to join in yourself!  This week our letter is "W."

Scavenger Hunt Sunday

Water
A ripening tomato is covered in fresh water droplets after a much need rainstorm.

Petal
true blue petals!  I forget the name of this flower.

Fresh

Eight
A stack of hand dyed cotton, silk, and silk velvet scrunchies await new homes in my SHOP.

Calm
Amidst all the chickens clucking and foraging, bugs prowling, and customers picking up food, Huck the farm cat is very relaxed!

This is a very fun meme hostessed by Ashley Sisk in which 5 prompts are given and one must then take a photo to illustrate each one.  Come see how others have interpreted these words HERE!  (And you'll get to see photos of Ashley's newly born baby girl!)  You have till Tuesday, July 17 at midnight EST to join in.

Next week's words are wrapped, time together, tell me a story, love or couple, and duplicated.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday

Out for a walk on a rather dreary, rain-spitting day....

Water
water everywhere, dripping from the trees,

Reflection
in puddles on the ground, reflecting sky and branches, and one lone leaf

Mainly One Color
the sky, the trees, the rocks, the water--all mainly one color

Writing
believe me, I was not tempted to swim!
Time to head home!

Around the Home
Earnest and Oliver wait.

I'm having so much fun participating in this challenging, inspiring, and fun meme.  Come on over to  Scavenger Hunt Sunday on Ashley Sisk's blog and see some wonderful, creative entries.  Link up, too!
